  • What do I call my team? You can name your team almost anything. A club can have two teams with the same name, but of course that can be confusing. The WYSL web site at http://www.wyslsoccer.org is another good place to look for names.

  • Who must register online? ALL players and coaches must register online. Even returning players and coaches must register online.

  • What do I need to do to get my team registered with the league? Very little except for prodding parents to register online and to help me collect birth certificates and photos for new players. Players that have played in WYSL before but are new to your team must just send a photo. Birth certificate's are not required for these players. An example of such a player is someone that is moving between teams.

  • What kind of photo do you need for the pass? A 2x2 passport size photo.

  • When are fees due? The club fee is immediatly upon registration. Every player must pay the club fee of $205.
  •  How do I get uniforms and warmups? Emily Wade at Eurosport handles our uniform orders. Emily's email is . Julie Lowitz handles our warmup orders and any questions about uniforms.
  • What do I tell Emily and Julie about uniforms and warmups? You can find the uniform order form at the CYSC website. It has all the information that you will need to collect and give to Emily. Julie needs to know jacket and pants sizes you will need as well as players first names and numbers. The town/club policy is to use first names (no last names).

  • Can different players on my team have the same jersey number? This is not allowed. The club gives each U10 team a unique block of numbers. When a player moves between teams, he/she will have a unique number. New players will be given new unique numbers.

  • How long do uniform and warmup order take? Anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks. To be safe, you should allow at least 4 weeks.

  • Do I need practice jerseys? Yes! The club does requires standard practice jerseys.

  • Where do I get trainers? The club will help you and attempt to assign trainers, and you can always ask the current coaches for recommendations. Every trainer has a different style and you definitely want a trainer to fit your style. resnick can give you a list of trainers.

  • Can you tell me more about preseason camp? Typically, each team spends a week together during the preseason camp, plays in a Labor Day tournament and then starts league play. The hours and fields will be determined once the town gives the club fields. This is usually not until August. The club does its best to accommodate requests from the coaches, but last season the club had to use 3 3-hour sessions on the fields to accommodate all the teams. The teams can use their own trainers. If a team's trainer is not available, then the club will assign a trainer.

  • Can I use my own trainer during preseason camp? Yes. In the past teams have been allowed to use their own trainers during the camp. You can ask Jonathan David specific questions about the preseason camp.

  • Tournaments? The club recommends that every team plays in at least 2 tournaments. Most teams play in more. The club's tournament page is a good place to start looking. A good place to start reading about tournaments in general is the Manhattan Soccer Club Tournaments Information Page (see the link at the top of club's tournament page).
