Letter from the President
August 11th, 2020
Hello CYSC members,
No matter how I put it, I doubt I could fully capture or describe how the last few months of 2020 have been for your families. Just like you, I hope that we continue to successfully make our way to a new normal so our players can get back on the soccer field. The team at CSYC are doing everything they can to have our players competing in September.
We will be holding our annual members meeting over Zoom. Yep, another zoom meeting for you to consider. A separate invite to follow but please save the date, 8/27/20 at 7:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to join the meeting, but it is mandatory for Parent Managers/Coaches and optional for all others. The purpose of the meeting will be to share updates from WYSL, go over some updated procedures and answer questions.
Pre-Season Camp: some open spaces still available. This is a great place for our players to reunite with teammates and friends. They will get some good soccer workouts to get their legs tuned up to go back to playing. Most importantly, it allows their trainers to prepare them for a successful start to the season. I recommend you sign up if you have not done so already. Reach out to: [email protected]
I want to thank our trainers for their creativity and patience to make the virtual sessions over the lock down happen. Parents, I know you had to adapt to a lot of changes, so many virtual sessions for school and sports that came with many challenges. The good thing is we are now able to get the players onto the fields alongside our trainers. To make this sustainable we all need to stay aware of the risks and recommended precautions. Abide by the 6 feet social distance rule, sanitize your players hands as they leave your car and do the same as they return to your car after a practice or game. Players must wear a mask as they transition to and from the field. They will be asked to keep 6 feet apart during water breaks and parents stay away from the players during practice and comply with the 6 feet social distance rule. We are all happy to be out watching our kids play but at the same time stay vigilant to the safety recommendations.
We appreciate your support throughout this unusual period as we need to continue to work together to keep our soccer community safe and thriving.
Thank you for all your support and I look forward to a great 2020/21 soccer season.
